Cynthia Baker and Nancy Waite, co-owners of baker-waite realty, inc., are proud of their team "local realtors serving local communities." They have reason to be proud - baker-waite realty is consistently the top non-franchise listing and selling office in South Hadley, according to Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
Established on September 4th, 2001, the baker-waite agents have more than 100 years of Real Estate experience. Cynthia and Nancy had worked together for 10 years before their formal incorporation. They started in Nancy Waite's kitchen before moving to 130 College St. (Rt. 116) in South Hadley. Their biggest obstacle was overcoming the market slump following 9/11 - one week after they went into business.
While they take advantage of all the known advertising venues, including their own website at www.baker-waite.com, 70-75% of their business comes from Word-of-mouth referrals. "Being a locally owned business is a major plus," said Cynthia. One of their largest affiliations is with Mount Holyoke College. They are very civic minded: member, South Hadley Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the BASH Program - children's athletic program - with South Hadley Police Dept., Officer Bill Child Safety Program, and have volunteered for the all Ladies' PGA Tour and South Hadley's 250th Anniversary celebration.
It's easy to see why the Cynthia - Nancy team does so well. They play off each other and their energy is boundless. No wonder they're #1.
